Custom Art Framing
Let's face it.  This whole custom framing industry is not what it was twenty, fifteen, even ten years ago.  Back then, you just picked a frame off the wall, selected a mat color, left the whole package with the framer and picked it up in two weeks.

Today, there are a myriad of options and choices that will provide you with the best selection of framing materials, whether you are framing an inexpensive poster or puzzle to hang on the wall or a limited edition lithograph, serigraph or original work of art.

First, there is the method of mounting. Most photographs, posters, puzzles and inexpensive works of art can be permanently mounted.  This will keep them flat and rigid and provides a good presentation when framed.  Limited editions and original works of art on paper or other materials need a means of mounting that will not damage the artwork or do anything to decrease the value of the art.  This process is commonly referred to as "museum mounting" or "archival mounting".  But be aware, these mounting processes refer to more than just the mount, and include almost all of the remaining framing components, as well.
Next are the mats.  Will wood pulp mats suffice or do you need something more? Maybe you should consider archival matting, made from 100% cotton fibers to provide the best protection for your artwork. Want matting with a colored paper surface, a suede texture, a linen texture?  There are literally hundreds of matting options available.  We will take the time necessary to help you understand the differences in mats and how each are acceptable for the right piece of artwork and proper application.

Glazing materials come in a variety of options, as well.  "Regular" glass is the old stand by, and is still the most common choice.  A similar product comes with a non-reflective surface, and is referred to as "non-glare" glass.  There are also options for archival quality glass that provides U/V protection for your artwork.  These U/V filtering products come in both "regular" (shiny) and "non-glare" finishes.

Acrylic products are also available and have increased in popularity for artwork that will be handled frequently or shipped.  Like "glass", acrylic comes in a number of types and finishes.
